The mHealth Alliance was launched by the UN Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation, and The Vodafone Foundation in 2009 to harness the power of wireless technologies to improve health outcomes in low and middle income countries. Soon after its launch, the mHealth Alliance welcomed GSMA and the U.S. Presidents Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) as Founding Partners. During the 2010 mHealth Summit, HP announced its commitment to the mHealth Alliance and was added as a Founding Partner.

Founding Partners provide leadership by serving as members of the mHealth Alliance’s Partnership Board, and provide significant financial support for the Alliance’s core operations.
